Principle of plastic plasticization

The plastic particles in the hopper of the injection molding machine are sent to the front end of the barrel by the rotation of the screw. The external heating device of the barrel and the shear heat generated by the rotation of the screw synergistically heat the plastic particles to soften and melt, forming a plastic melt with good fluidity. For example, polyethylene is fully plasticized at 160-220℃ to prepare for injection.

After the plastic is plasticized, the injection cylinder pushes the screw and injects the plastic melt into the closed mold cavity through the nozzle at high speed according to the set pressure and speed. The production of thin-walled products requires higher injection pressure and speed.

Principle of mold opening and closing

The mold clamping device is responsible for the opening and closing of the mold. Before injection, the mold clamping cylinder drives the movable mold plate to quickly close the mold and provide a strong clamping force to prevent overflow. The clamping force of a large injection molding machine can reach thousands of tons. After the injection is completed, the movable mold plate is opened to remove the product.

Cooling and solidification principle​

After the plastic melt is injected into the cavity, the cooling system composed of the circulating water channel in the mold starts to work, and the cold water takes away the heat to cool the melt and solidify. The cooling time and rate affect the quality of the product. Large products often require a longer cooling time to ensure full solidification and avoid deformation and shrinkage.

Product ejection principle​

After the product is cooled and solidified, the ejection cylinder pushes the ejector rod to push it out of the mold cavity to complete demolding. The ejection position and ejection force need to be reasonably adjusted according to the shape and structure of the product. Products with undercut structures often use special ejection methods such as sliders and inclined ejectors.
