Why Do Consumables For FDM 3D Printers Still Need To Be Selected

There are various types of FDM 3D printers to choose from, so should consumables be selected? The answer is yes. While filaments on the market may be printed, different filaments, model accuracy and surface texture depth may vary. Consumables for FDM 3D printers can basically be divided into three categories.
General consumable materials (PLA, ABS): PLA and ABS are the most commonly used FDM 3D printer consumables, which are also well-known engineering plastics, both of which are engineering plastics. ABS is widely used in our daily life. For example, any plastic product around us may be ABS material or ABS composition. PLA is a kind of polylactic acid consumable that was introduced later. It is extracted from corn starch, which is environmentally friendly and non-polluting. It is a food-grade degradable consumable.
When 3D printing started to enter China, many people used ABS consumables. Later, with the gradual improvement and maturity of the industry, PLA gradually unified the market. Most factories or businesses now use ABS for printing, because PLA can fully meet the requirements of basic 3D printing models. When printing ABS consumables, the smell is too great, the working environment is demanding, and fewer and fewer people use ABS.
Modified consumables: On the basis of the modification of PLA materials, it can be generally divided into two categories: one is modified consumables based on polylactic acid; the modification of polylactic acid consumables is mainly to improve the performance of polylactic acid consumables. The manufacturer proposed a modification plan. The names of the modified consumables may also be different. Some are called modified PLA, some are called PLA+, and some manufacturers directly renamed the consumables.
The second modification can be said to be color-changing consumables, that is, it can display different colors according to different temperatures, which is a very magical material. There is also a gradient consumable. FDM 3D printers can only print monochrome, which is its common problem, so some manufacturers have developed gradient-colored consumables. Since the material itself is a gradient color, the printed pattern is also a gradient color. With gradient colors, you can add some aura to your 3D printed creations.
Particle-added consumables: I would like to remind everyone here that the particles-added consumables are easy to plug. For example, the addition of sawdust particles, the particles here are generally small particles, which are not easy to be seen. The printing effect is also very good. The shape not only has wood grain, but also the texture of FDM itself. The slightly rough feel is also very good. However, due to the addition of wood particles, it is easy to plug. So choose carefully.
Non-ordinary consumables: This refers to things that are rarely seen by ordinary people. In fact, consumables such as PC, ASA, PBT, PET, PVA and other consumables are used in factories.
It is recommended that ordinary users can choose to use PLA at ordinary times, or choose several modified consumables to try.
