Leds or let mobile phone without having to touch in the future

Mobile phone screen might soon detect you hand the shadow, you probably don't need to hands touching screen can fully use gestures to operating mobile phone from a distance. Recently, scientists are making a new type of light-emitting diode (LED), can not only light but also absorb the external light source.

The researchers adjusted for the LED. Usually, semiconductor materials can only use a shell from a quantum dots, prevent it detects light. In order to solve this problem, scientists are making nanorods, quantum dots in it can contact with the two kinds of semiconductor materials. And the diameter of less than 5 nm nanorods is composed of three kinds of semiconductor materials, the transmission and absorption of visible light, one can the other two are used to control the flow of charge in the first material.

Researchers report in the journal science, according to three kinds of materials working together can make the LED panel at the same time of light sensing external light and brightness adjustment. It is reported, because the leds in the glowing and photosensitive fast switching between two functions of frequency, the naked eye can't identify this kind of switch, so the display panel is normally on look.
